Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect during my first visit?
We'll start with a brief conversation about what's bothering you, your health history, and what you're hoping to get out of the session. Then you'll have private time to undress to your comfort level and get on the table. I'll work with you to make sure the pressure and focus areas are exactly what you need.
How often should I get a massage?
It depends on your goals. For general wellness and stress relief, once a month works great for most people. If you're dealing with chronic pain or recovering from an injury, you might benefit from weekly or bi-weekly sessions. We can figure out what makes sense for you.
What should I wear?
Whatever makes you comfortable! You'll undress to your comfort level before getting on the table. You'll be properly draped with sheets throughout the entire session, and only the area being worked on will be exposed.
Do you accept insurance?
I don't bill insurance directly, but I can provide a receipt (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Many HSA and FSA cards are accepted for payment.
Can I request a specific type of massage?
Absolutely! While I specialize in therapeutic massage that addresses your specific needs, you're welcome to request deep tissue, relaxation, or any combination that works for you. Communication is key.
How far in advance should I book?
My schedule fills up quickly, especially evenings and weekends. I'd recommend booking 1-2 weeks in advance when possible. That said, I sometimes have last-minute openings, so it never hurts to check!
What's your cancellation policy?
Life happens, I get it. I ask for 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This gives me time to offer your spot to someone else. Late cancellations may be charged 50% of the session fee.
